One of the four brothers who inherited a banking and mineral fortune, Pedro Moreira Salles started to build his estimated net worth of $3.3 billion when he joined his late father’s Unibanco in 1989. The bank, which is the largest private banking institution in Brazil today, was headed by his father Walter Moreira Sales for several decades. Salles gradually rose through the ranks in the bank.
