Godfred Owusu Boateng (born 4 April 1993), better known as TwoBars, is a Ghanaian record producer, voice over artist and composer who specializes in Afro-pop, Hip hop, Afrobeats, R&B, Hiplife, Trap and Highlife. He is best known for producing the hit singles “Things Fall Apart” by Kofi Kinaata and Zombie by Kwesi Arthur.

Early life and education

Boateng was born on 4 April 1993 in Tema to Philip Addai and Stella Agyeiwaa. He completed Kumasi High School and has a B.A in Psychology & Adult Education from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Career

TwoBars started his career as a rapper but diverted his interest into beat making in 2008 when he was introduced to Fruity Loops. With help from YouTube tutorial videos, TwoBars started remaking beats of some popular songs including R2bees – “Makoma” and “I dey Mad”, Sarkodie – “Lay Away, Original and Dear Rap”, Edem – “U dey Craze”, etc.

He took record production serious in 2012 when he entered University of Ghana. He was then introduced to one of Ghana’s talented producer Seshi da Herbaliss and started working in his DSMedia Studio since 2013.

In 2019, TwoBars produced the hit singles “Things Fall Apart” by Kofi Kinaata, and Zombie by Kwesi Arthur, both songs earned several nominations at the 2020 edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and also the 3Music Awards.
