Roger Nkodo Dang is a Cameroonian and African politician who serves as the President of the Pan-African Parliament and is also a member of the National Assembly of Cameroon. On 27 May 2015 Dang was elected as successor to Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi. He obtained 85 votes.
Early life
Nkodo Dang is a diplomat by training. From 2012 and under Amadi’s presidency, he is first vice-president of the Pan-African Parliament, representing the central region.
During the nomination process of the CPDM for the 2013 Cameroonian legislative election in Nyong-et-Mfoumou, the list that Nkodo Dang leads is initially disqualified against that of Jean-Claude Bekolo Mbang. However, the functions of Nkodo Dang in the Pan-African Parliament allow him to consider becoming president and the CPDM, under the pressure of Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, President of the Assembly, decides to disqualify the list Bekolo Mbang and requalify that of Nkodo Dang. In the election Nkodo Dang returns to his seat at the National Assembly5,6.
In the election to the presidency of the Pan-African Parliament, he won with 85 votes against Mozambican Eduardo Joaquim Mulémbwè (70 votes) and Tunisian Mongi Rahoui (9 votes).
