Jeffrey Toobin net worth: Jeffrey Toobin is an American lawyer, author and television personality who has a net worth of $10 million. Toobin first gained fame as a television legal analyst during trials against celebrities like O.J. Simpson and Michael Jackson. Jeffrey Toobin was born in New York City, New York on May 21, 1960. He graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude with a BA in American History and Literature. He then attended Harvard Law School where he once again graduated magna cum laude. One of his classmates was future Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. While in law school he worked as a freelance writer for The New Republic. After graduating and passing the bar he worked as a clerk for a Federal judge then as an associate counsel for Lawrence Walsh, the Independent Counsel who oversaw Oliver North’s criminal trial during the Iran-Contra affair. Toobin wrote a book about his time working for Lawrence Walsh, against Walsh’s wishes. Toobin had to go so far as to sue for the right to publish his book. His lawsuit was ultimately successful. He then spent three years working as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Brooklyn, before resigning in 1993 and taking up a job at The New Yorker as a legal analyst. His timing was perfect. Less than a year later, Nicole Brown Simpson was allegedly murdered by O.J. Simpson. Opening statements in the case were made on January 24, 1995 and the verdict was announced on October 3, 1995. Toobin broke the news that O.J.’s defense was planning to accuse Mark Fuhrman of planting evidence. In 1996 Toobin turned his coverage of the case into a book titled “The Run of his Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson”. Decades later the book would serve as the inspiration for the FX’s series “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”. The series won nine Emmys. Toobin has also authored the books “Opening arguments: a young lawyer’s first case”, “A vast conspiracy: the real story of the sex scandal that nearly brought down a president”, “Too close to call: the thirty-six-date battle to decide the 2000 election”, “The Nine: inside the secret world of the Supreme Court”, “The oath: the Obama White House and the Supreme Court”, “American heiress: the wild saga of the kidnapping, crimes and trial of Patty Hearst”, “True Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Investigation of Donald Trump”. Toobin has been the Senior Legal Analyst for CNN since 2002.
