John Morgridge Net Worth: John Morgridge is an American businessman who has a net worth of $1 billion. Former Cisco CEO and now the chairman of the board of Cisco Systems, John Morgrdige still generates the most of his fortune via his shares in Cisco. Born John P. Morgridge in 1933 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1955, and then took a MBA from Stanford University in 1957. He first started to work for Stratus Computer and Honeywell Information Systems, after which he landed a post as president and Chief Operating officer of GRiD Systems. It was in 1988 that he became CEO and Chairman of Cisco, a four year old company with 34 employees at the time. Morgridge took the company public in 1990 and five years later he stepped down from the CEO position. But since, he has seen his net worth grow as the company’s stock continued to climb. Thus, he eventually became a billionaire. Today, he only serves as Cisco’s chairman emeritus. A great philanthropist, Morgridge and his wife Tashia, have both given support to numerous charities and educational institutions, including his alma maters the University of Wisconsin and Stanford University. Also an avid hiker, John Morgridge used to be a chair of the Nature Conservancy, which uses private funds to buy and protect land from development.
