Abdoul ou Abdel Kader Haïdara est né à Tombouctou, où il dirige la Bibliothèque commémorative Mamma Haidara qu’il a fondé à partir du fond de manuscrits hérité de son père Mamma Haïdara. Il œuvre à la mise en place de bibliothèques privées pour la préservation des collections de manuscrits détenus dans différentes familles religieuses à Tombouctou.
Bibliothécaire archiviste, il a travaillé au centre Ahmed Baba. Abdoul Kader Haïdara est docteur honoris causa de l’École normale supérieure de Lyon en France.
